We make rock climbing maps and many of these locations require hiking into remote, difficult, and dangerous areas to scale an impressive rock face. Along the way we have discovered some amazing and incredible places – places where the hike is as rewarding as the climb. Some hikes are easy, others are more extreme.

Now, we are assembling maps of unique trails for the curious or adventurous hiker and packaging them into explorations called Choose Your Adventure (C-YA). Pick the hike that suits your (or your group’s) mood, level of fitness, or time available.  We even have maps where a child can be the guide.

  • We have captured trails that are not on other maps.
  • Because we have walked every single trail, we provide details like no other hiking product. This includes orientation photos, up-close topography, and trail difficulty ratings, so you know what’s ahead and where to go.
  • We have curated a selection of awesome trails, choosing ones that are unique, interesting, or challenging, depending on the adventure you want.

HEY CLIMBERS!

We are also including the Climber’s Map for Joshua Tree, CA as part of this Kickstarter. Grab a JTree map for your climbing adventures and a C-YA map for your rest days or family explorations. The JTree climber’s map includes all the features you know and love about Climb-On Maps – approaches, walk-offs, crag summaries, trail difficulty, exposure points, etc.

The biggest reason to back Climb-On is …

BECAUSE Your World was meant to be explored

Who is Climb-On Maps

Climb-On Maps is husband and wife team, Rick Momsen and Stefani Dawn. Both are avid outdoor's people hiking, backpacking, paddling, skiing/snowboarding, surfing, and, their all-time favorite past time is rock climbing - especially long, adventurous, multi-pitch climbs (which often have long approaches and walk-offs).

Climb-On Maps got their start by making the most detailed maps of some of the U.S.’s largest and most popular rock climbing areas. Rock climbing trails tend to be difficult, remote, poor quality, and often exposed, but some trails are special, challenging, beautiful, and fun. Because we have walked every single trail on every single map we have made, we know which trails are the most interesting and the best of the best. These trails are definitely not cookie-cutter! In fact many of them are not even on your standard map!
